2020 has been a bit of a different year travel-wise, and many of us haven’t got to do any of the travel plans that we had hoped for. While a lot of us dreamt of trips across the pond, lying in the sunshine, hiking mountains, and experiencing new destinations and cultures, the Covid pandemic meant it just wasn’t to be. Yet this doesn’t mean that any chances of travel are completely over. Instead, you will need to turn your traveling sights that bit closer to home. One of the ways that you can still travel and see a bit more of the world around you is camping. It might be that you have never really considered it before, or been many years ago and haven’t tried it since. If that is the case, now is the perfect time to get planning a camping trip. Here are five reasons why it’s a great idea for your next vacation…
It’s a chance to spend time in natural surroundings.
So often, our vacations are spent in the city or in a fast-paced environment where we don’t get to truly relax. By camping, you get the chance to be at one with nature, where you don’t have any electrics or external distractions. You can spend time chilling in the fresh air, which is also good for your mindfulness and to eradicate stress. There are also so many stunning natural sights that you can see, from mountains and lakes to beautiful forest walks. These will also encourage you to do some exercise, making you feel better and healthier in the long run.
It is inexpensive.
Vacations can be extortionately expensive. Before you know it, once you have booked a flight, transfers, hotel, and paid for your meals, drinks, and activities your bill is well up in the thousands. Camping is the total opposite of this, and once you have paid a one-off price for your camping equipment, you only need to spend money on your food and supplies. No matter if you decide to camp in a tent or a frame camper attached to an RV, it will work out cheaper than paying for the whole family to go to an all-inclusive year after year.
It is a great way to spend time with family or friends.
Life can be busy, and you might not have the time to spend with your loved ones as you would like to. Camping is the perfect way to spend some quality time together without distractions such as the TV. It is a chance to find different games and hobbies to do together, as well as make plenty of memories. From taking long walks, to cooking over a campfire and telling stories under the stars, the list is endless.
These are just a few reasons why you should go on a camping holiday. It is a vacation that is packed with benefits, and you may find that even when travel restrictions lift, you opt to go somewhere a little closer to home. Which are your favorite reasons to go camping?
