If you are like me, sometimes it’s hard to see the forest through the trees. You may be trying to find the utopia of work-life balance or adjusting to a new chapter in your life related to your career, health, or love. However, instead of tackling that million item to-do list, sometimes the best thing to do is nothing. Sitting for a moment letting the world go by as you Look Up.
For those of you that are new to the Look Up mantra, I created it a decade ago to remind me of a life lesson a tree taught me in 2009. Look Up is a double entendre that reminds us all to 1) Be in the moment, appreciating the beauty as well as hazards around us 2) Find the upside as every hurdle, hiccup, or wound turns into wisdom.
To compliment Look Up, I chose to use a famous quote by the author of Winnie the Pooh, Alan Alexander Milne, “Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift.”
Give yourself a present today by living in the present.
Here's to looking up!
