Camino de Santiago Spain – The French Way Video Recap

Camino de Santiago Spain - The French Way Video

You may have heard of the Camino de Santiago (St. James Way) in Spain whether it was from the famous author Paulo Coelho and his book, The Pilgrimage, or via the movie 'The Way' featuring Martin Sheen. Over the last six months, I have had the opportunity to walk the last 100 km of the French Way of the Camino de Santiago not once, but twice.

Buen Camino - Have a good way/journey!

Buen_Camino_greeting_on_the_Camino_de_SantiagoAlthough it is difficult to express the life-enhancing lessons that the Camino has taught me as well as those who walked with me, I think the number one is respect and camaraderie. The typical greeting along the Camino is Buen Camino, which wishes the other a safe and good journey. As the Camino is a mixture of people from all over the world, you never know if you are encountering a Spanish, French, or other nationality on the Camino. Thus, as a gesture of respect and togetherness, all say Buen Camino.

What does the Camino Francés, the French Way look like?

I created a recap video to summarize the typical Galician landscape, mileage, and highlights. I have condensed seven days into a little over three minutes. Enjoy!

If you are interested in learning more about the Camino, read my adventure guide for the Camino de Santiago. You may have more questions. If so, please leave them below in the comments. However, if you are ready to do it yourself...I would highly recommend Camino Ways with whom I trusted my two trips this year. When you book, use HeidiSiefkasCamino to receive a VIP discount.

As always, here's to looking up and Buen Camino!
