Literary Events October in the Sun Sentinel – Being A Survivor

Plantation resident Heidi N. Siefkas believed she had a good life with a fulfilling career and a solid marriage until a near tragedy struck. A tree limb in New York's Hudson River Valley struck her, breaking her neck and leaving her unconscious. Siefkas ended up losing her job and her marriage fell apart. Siefkas calls herself a survivor and she turned the story of her life and recovery into the inspirational memoir "When All Balls Drop: The Upside of Losing Everything."
