Look Up Crib Sheet from Hell

Have you ever been to H-E double hockey sticks (H-E-L-L) on Earth?

Welcome_To_Hell_Statue_Grand_Cayman_by_Author_Heidi_SiefkasWell, sometimes when you are in a terrible situation, you often times feel like you got a First-Class ticket to infierno.  This month, I found myself in Hell, figuratively, but also literally. On June 5th, I was delivered very unfortunate news about my job; my services were no longer needed. However, because I was traveling on a cruise ship, I couldn’t punch out and drive home. I needed to stay onboard for the next 3.5 days. It was a roller coaster of emotions from worry, disappointment, anger, as well as relief.

Look Up from Hell

Welcome_to_Hell_souvenir_shop_Grand_CaymanRather than staying in my figurative Hell, I went to Hell in Grand Cayman. Many do not know this, but there is a town called Hell in the Caribbean. It was a short drive from the cruise ship terminal, but a way to reframe my situation, which was only a professional setback.

Look_Up_from_Hell_Grand_CaymanWhile physically in Hell, I left figurative Hell by remembering that all I could control was my perspective of the situation. I chose to Look Up:

  1. Be in the moment, appreciating the beauty in Hell as well as the hazards of Hell.
  2. Find the upside as each situation, hurdle, or your Hell turns into wisdom.

Deal! Until our paths cross in Cuba again.
  2. I also have been to hell and back, fun place, not so fun when the world crashes! So sorry for your dismissal, their loss, we had the opportunity to be with you on Carnival Sensation, and you're "sensational", made it to Cuba , May 25, and your info was so helpful. I will go back.Maybe if there is a, not to athletic, type of tour coming up , and schedule permits I could go with you, or you could recommend one.Good luck, one door closes, 5 more open. Best regards, Carole Zdroik
  3. The politics of US and Cuba lead to odd job opportunities or the reverse. You offered the best advice on my ship to Cuba and have helped so many people understand and enjoy. If you are away from the ship, you will have more influence on many travelers to Cuba and elsewhere. That is your new status, one well-deserved, and important to all. I know you see another door opening and have many ideas on how to paint the next picture. Best wished. Allen
