10 Unmissable Beach in Bali

Bali is the place to go if you love sea, sun, and surf. The island is famous for its waves, amazing culture and delicious food. There are some many things to do in Bali that you could spend the whole summer there. The best part is that you can enjoy it all in a beachfront resort or in a local guesthouse. Non-surfers and families are welcome too, among the best beaches in Bali you can find crystal clear water, black sand beaches, and impressive cliffs.

Seminyak Beach

The address for trendy hotels, beach bars, and clubs, Seminyak Beach attracts party goers from all around the world. If you want to relax by the pool, enjoy the sun and sip cocktails, book a nice hotel in Seminyak and have fun.

Echo Beach

Echo_Beach_Bali_IndonesiaHome of surfers and a growing expat community, Echo Beach is the place to watch the surfers and have a beer during sunsets. It's not the best beach for swimming, as the big waves can easily knock you down, but it's definitely a good place to spend the day. There are plenty of nice bars and restaurants around, and a cool vibe in the air.

Jimbaran Bay

Go for the stunning sunset and have dinner under the stars in one of the many seafood restaurants spread along the beach.

Keramas Beach

If you like to surf or just want to sunbathe in a quiet beach, Keramas Beach is your call. The beach is so beautiful, the sand is pitch black and becomes a giant mirror when the sun is shining. Famous among locals, Keramas is still a hidden gem.

Nusa Dua

Fancy hotels, water activities and family resorts. Nusa Dua is a good option for those who want to stay in a beachfront property and have fun in just one place.

Padang Padang Beach

This little paradise became famous after the movie Eat Pray Love that was shot there. It's a great spot for surfers or those who love to watch them choreographing through the impressive waves.

Uluwatu Beach

Uluwatu_Beach_Bali_IndonesiaThis is a pro spot, amazing surf and views to die for. Uluwatu Beach is under the Uluwatu Temple, one of the top tourist attractions in Bali. If you are not a surfer, go there to admire the sunset from the top of the cliff, it’s incredible.

Amed Beach

Away from all the tourist sites and busy beaches, Amed is the favorite place for divers and travelers that want to experience the local life in Bali.

Kuta Beach

Kuta_beach_Bali-IndonesiaThis is the most famous and busiest beach in Bali. It’s touristy and overcrowded, but it’s worth visiting, especially if you want to learn surf. Most of the surf schools are located there and the sea is not as rough as in Echo Beach or the beaches in Uluwatu.

Sanur Beach

Sanur is a quiet beach perfect for families or for those who want to relax. There are plenty of resorts and restaurants around. It’s also a good place to stay if you planning to take the fast ferry to the neighboring Nusa Lembongan island.

Bali has beaches for all travelers and my suggestion is to rent a scooter and go explore them. But don’t forget, Bali is more than beaches, the villages, the waterfalls, the volcanoes, and temples are worth visiting.

  1. Love the beaches around Bali! This is such a good list, but we also love Suluban beach on Uluwatu, because of how unique it is.
  2. My favourite beach in Bali was Amed! The contrast between the blue of the sea, the green of the vegetation, the black of the volcano and sand... The shape of the main beach and the traditional boats. The water palace of Ujung bordered by the rice field. Tirta Gangga water palace. Now I want to return :-D
  3. Sanur beach is so underrated! Hands down one of my favorite beaches in Bali!
