Post Adventure Refreshment – The Best Mojito Cocktail Recipe

Let's mix things up with adventure and a mojito!

If you are really on an adventure, challenging yourself, and living close to the edge, you will run into roadblocks, hiccups, and certainly misadventures. I certainly have. Some of my favorite stories around the dinner table or a bonfire are these misadventures, for example, being stung on my nose by a hornet right before meeting my former in-laws in Brazil while my head was the size of a basketball. Oh, and don't get me started on my adventures in Cuba over the last five years. CANDELA (WOW)!

In fact, on one of these trips to Cuba, my dear friend and sister from another mister, Yislaine, told me,

“In Cuba, there are no problems, only situations. One situation, one mojito. Two situations, two mojitos.”

After sharing her Cuban wisdom of mojitos, I wanted to give you a way to turn your problems, misadventures, or situations into a thing of the past with a true Cuban mojito recipe.

So Prepare to Mojito Your Situations Away!

The Best Mojito Cocktails Recipe for 4 from my recent book Cubicle to Cuba

  • 6 tbsp. lime juice (jugo de limón)
  • 4 tbsp. sugar (azúcar)
  • club soda (agua gaseada)
  • Bitters (angostura)
  • 12 mint sprigs (hierba buena)
  • 4 slices of lime (limón)
  • Highball glass (vaso)

Instructions:

  1. Place all ingredients in shaker minus limes, 4 sprigs of mint, bitters, soda water.
  2. Pour shaken mixture into 4 glasses of ice.
  3. Splash each glass with soda water to taste.
  4. Add one to two drops of bitters to each glass.
  5. Garnish with one fresh sprig of mint and a lime slice.

Havana_Club_Mojito_Havana_CubaRemember one situation, one mojito; two situations, two mojitos; three situations, three mojitos. When all your balls drop with a full-blown catastrophe, make four—but be prepared to hit the floor.

Enjoy the mojito recipe. It’s cheaper than therapy!

  1. You can't beat a good mojito can you? :D We're actually in Mexico right now and we're really enjoying the paloma that they do here...tequila, grapefruit juice and lime on crushed ice. It's got that same refreshing tang as a mojito but with a very different (and delicious) flavour profile! Cheers! Andrew.

Sounds like another post adventure refreshment to add to my repertoire.
  2. I appreciate your mojito receipe. I've had to top drinking because of the medication that I'm on now, but, I may have to try one or two or many more mojitos to confirm their strength (ha,ha!)
