When All Balls Drop – Benvenuto to Rome and Tuscany

Heidi Siefkas, author of When All Balls Drop: The Upside of Losing Everything, recently returned from a tour through Italy with events in Rome and Tuscany. She was delighted to share her inspirational story of survival and life change with her European fans. The attendees of her two events embraced the take-away of the book, which Heidi calls Looking Up. This phrase or mantra that Heidi describes in her memoir stems from the power of perspective, having two major components:

1) Be aware of your surroundings, appreciating the beauty around you as well as hazards. In essence, be more in the moment.

2) Spin each situation positively. As many negative circumstances are blessings in disguise or a needed detour to your true path.Author_Heidi_Siefkas_Promoting_When_All_Balls_Drop_in_Florence_Italy

By changing her perspective and Looking Up, Heidi conquered losing it all and redefined having it all.

With attendees from around the world, including Canada, United States, Czech Republic, Australia, Ireland, Italy, and more, Heidi read her favorite vignettes at both events in Rome and Tuscany explaining how she found out about her own traumatic tree accident five days after it happened as well as humorous bits from her recovery in Massachusetts and Florida. Although her story deals with difficult issues, the positivity and quirky humor made attendees laugh.

At the event in Tuscany, overlooking a garden with rows of cypress trees in the foreground (seen below), Heidi commented on how Looking Up is very much aligned with the Italian way of life and La Bella Vita. She said,

Although it was a quick week in Italy, Heidi will continue to keep the roads and airways hot with many events around the globe this fall. This week she will be hosting a brunch on October 26th in Fort Lauderdale as well as a reading in Boston on November 1st at Brookline Booksmith.
